Description

Colorado Academy has offered summer activities for metro area youth since 1951. Young people come from as far as Castle Rock, Evergreen and Parker, and a sizeable number of them are not students at Colorado Academy during the academic year. Summers at CA are much less formal. There is plenty of time for fun while being challenged either intellectually, physically, or both. A top-notch staff conducts all of the programs. Two full-size gymnasiums, five large playing fields, eight tennis courts, a baseball diamond, dozens of classrooms, a theater, a dining hall, four computer labs, spacious studio arts workrooms, a facility for vocal and instrumental music and a photography studio provide ample facilities for exciting and sophisticated programs. With a wide variety of offerings from computers to circus, day camp to lacrosse, rock climbing to photography, computer graphics to digital music, truly, there is something at CA in the summer for every school-age individual.

Colorado Academy is a nonprofit, independent, college preparatory school for students in grades pre-K through twelve, offering nonsectarian education and summer opportunities to any qualified student regardless of national origin, race or religion. Special needs children are considered on an individual basis.

Colorado Academy is situated on 94 acres of beautiful Colorado countryside in southwest Denver. Founded in 1906, CA is an independent, coeducational school serving approximately 875 students from preschool through high school. It is a campus where dynamic, outstanding academic programs are combined with an abundance of opportunities in the arts, athletics, experiential and service activities, and community life. Every student is encouraged to excel, to grow, to serve, to understand and to create.

Students, faculty, and parents at Colorado Academy deeply value one another's individuality and capacity for growth. CA strives for academic excellence and the highest standards of achievement within an environment of active learning, creative expression, problem-solving experimentation and character discipline. By fostering each student's self-confidence, inquisitiveness, creativity and drive for excellence, CA ignites in him or her a passion for learning that will last a lifetime.
