Description

We have an excellent and professional athletic department, waterfront, extensive arts, drama and outdoor adventure programs, as well as very creative evening activities and special events.

Camp Towanda is nestled in the Northeast Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. We are 2 and half hours from the outskirts of New York City and Philadelphia, just 45 minutes west of Monticello, NY and east of Scranton, PA. Our lush campus sits secluded at the end of a dirt road, on over 220 acres of rolling countryside, surrounded by thousands of acres of farmland.

Camp Towanda is a private, independent, coed, 7 week, traditional, sports and "all-around" camp featuring all land and water sports, the arts and outdoor adventure. We offer HIGH QUALITY instruction, supervision, facilities and care to our campers. In turn, a sense of security to their families. Quite simply: "We provide a fun time in a safe and responsible environment with great people."

Camp Towanda is accredited by the American Camp Association and a member of the Camp Alert Network, Association of Independent Camps and the Wayne County Camp Association.

Camp Towanda is highly regarded as a leader throughout the industry, boasting the highest quality program, facilities and care of its staff, parents and campers. Camp Towanda annually maintains a waiting list for future enrollment.

Our camper-to-counselor ratio is higher than 4:1. The campers, staff and families we attract are down-to-earth, friendly and caring. Our camp is for all levels of abilities and interests. Overall, it's a great place!

Our camp is spirited, instructional, well-rounded, warm, very personable, highly-supervised, safe and fun?

There is an equal number of boys and girls. Our campers come from about 15 states and 7 countries, a great mixture of new friendships. We help both campers and parents adjust to camp, spoon-feeding and partnering along the way. Although our program is a full season, we do allow those entering 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade to sign-up for the first four weeks, their first year only. Of course, everyone always ends up staying the entire summer!

We are very proud of our camp, its program, the families and staff that return each year, and the overall pride that is indicative by the physical quality of the facility.
