Description

Welcome to camp.  We hope you take the opportunity to browse our home on the web so that you may learn more about our programs and what we have to offer.  We have created special pages for our summer visitors. The First page is the Camper Page, which answers questions our campers typically ask. The Parent page is dedicated to answering questions about registration, costs and forms. The Links above can direct you to all these parts of our webpage.

Lindley G. Cook 4-H Camp has been offering residential summer programs since 1951. Originally geared toward those youth enrolled in 4-H programming, today camp welcomes all youth, 4-H and non 4-H members alike.

During our six one-week sessions campers will have the opportunity to register for three daily classes from any of our four course areas; Arts & Crafts, Environmental Education, Shooting Sports and Waterfront.  Campers will also participate in a variety of traditional camp activities and they will bunk with their peers in one of our eleven rustic cabins.

Lindley G. Cook 4-H Camp is built on tradition, while at the same time constantly striving to provide up to date programming matched to the interests of those youth that join us at camp.

My son has attended this camp for two years, and he's had a lot of fun. The first week (usually right after school ends) is SET Camp (Science, Engineering & Technology). For four days and three nights campers work on projects, swim, hike, and do other camp items like archery or crafts. Last year, our son made root beer!

During regular camp, you can pick from a variety of activities including survival skills, canoeing, archery, air rifles or black powder rifles, pottery, theater, etc. The counselors are sensitive to your child's needs; as an example, our son is slightly autistic - with his social skills impacted - and he tends to not mix with large groups of kids on free activity times. They called concerned and I explained how they could draw him into an activity and socialize.

Our son would rather be at camp than home, so I think he likes it! It's also easier on the pocketbook than other sleepaway options.
