Description

I am delighted to continue our association with Tuckahoe School District in Eastchester for the 30th wonderful summer of Challenge Camp 2010. The beautiful, spacious campus will provide an enhanced learning environment with bright, airy rooms, expansive new turf athletic field, art studios, cutting-edge computer lab, gymnasium, auditorium/theatre and lunch facilities.

The Gifted and Talented Development Center, Inc. remains dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for children to realize their intellectual and personal potential. Morning classes are designed to stimulate imagination and creativity. In addition to favorites such as Robot's Alive, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Grand Prix, CITYscapes and Checkmate, we are introducing many new morning courses this year including: Map-Quest, Into the Woods, “Beauty and the Beast”, Who’s Line is It Anyway?, Brain Strains, Taste of China, My Green Thumb, Myths and Legends, Anime-tion and NASCAR Tech.

The Afternoon Challenge features our outstanding sports program. Baubles, Bangles & Beads, Hootenany, Stage Door, Rocket University 2, Buzzers & Bells, Wild Things, Dance Fever and Topps Attax are some of the many exciting new enrichment options. We will continue to offer a wide variety of existing workshops which include the ever popular Computer Simulation, Pinball Wizard, K'NEXplorations, Dungeons & Dragons, Circus in Motion, It’s Only Rock & Roll, All that Jazz, Shutterbugs and Gizmos & Gadgets.

The charismatic and talented Joseph Fields will return as Challenge's assistant director. Joe's boundless enthusiasm and expertise as an administrator has been a perennial inspiration to both our experienced teaching staff and campers. Our experienced office staff Marcy Geisser-Wolf and Laura Gillings will facilitate the administration of camp operations to make this a memorable summer.

For your convenience, an optional early morning arrival program will be available this summer. I am hopeful that you will be able to join us for our 30th anniversary at Challenge 2010 - your passport to learning.
