Description

The primary purpose of Sunshine Acres is to provide a Christian camp experience for young children between the ages of 8 and 15. By teaching them to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, they gain a fuller awareness of God and how to incorporate Him into their daily lives.

Sunshine Acres is an independent Baptist union supported by various churches in the New York Metropolitan area. We have been providing camping experiences for underprivileged children from these areas since 1909.

Campers are chosen by supporting Church representatives. Children in need of financial assistance may request a sponsorship from their Member Church.

I went to this camp as a kid in the summer of 1996. I love it!! My camp counselor name was Ms. Kristy and she made me feel right at home since I was miles and miles away. As an adult I still share stories of the games and fellowship I had as a child at sunshine acres.
