Small classes ensure personalized, in-depth learning. Rigorous course work includes both hands-on studio classes in a chosen area of concentration and Foundation Studio classes. Classes meet 9a.m.–4:20p.m. on weekdays, and include homework. Many of the instructors are award-winning, practicing designers and artists who teach in Otis’ BFA program. Contact with instructors provides a glimpse into the working lives of professional artists and designers, and introduces students to career choices. Working with faculty members, students selects their best work for the final exhibition displayed throughout the campus,
Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants who indicate an interest in off-campus housing upon registration are not guaranteed a room reservation. Equity Corporate Housing must receive the housing contract and payment in order to guarantee a room reservation. Housing payments are non-refundable unless another student is found to take the space.

Housing information may be obtained by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Information on roommate assignments is not available prior to check-in.
Students 18 and over may obtain alternative housing information from the Office of Student Affairs.
Residents of the student housing program must adhere to all policies, rules, regulations, etc. set forth in the Summer of Art Handbook, a copy of which is delivered to each student after registration. The residents have a nightly curfew of 10:00pm, and may not be away from their assigned rooms overnight. Students who are in violation of any of the policies, rules, regulations, etc. or otherwise create an unsafe or unproductive climate may be disciplined by Otis at its sole and exclusive discretion. The discipline may include dismissal of the student from the program without any refund and/or the receipt of a grade of “F”.
