Description

At Rider, we focus on learning that meets your life. We offer personal, purposeful, and engaging experiences that are relevant to you today and to your future. We are a student-centered university emphasizing high quality teaching and learning and a supportive community of dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to your success.

Rider’s rich history has emphasized purposeful connections between academic study and education for the professions – creating meaningful linkages between the classroom and a variety of other learning experiences that will help you build leadership skills and achieve success in life and work.

With roots dating back to 1865, Rider is a private, coeducational university located on 280 beautiful acres on two campuses in New Jersey – one in Lawrenceville and one in Princeton, both within easy driving distance to New York City and Philadelphia.

The Rider community is nearly 6,000 students strong.

Rider is comprised of four academic colleges – the College of Business Administration, the College of Liberal Arts, Education, and Sciences (comprised of the School of Education and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences), the College of Continuing Studies, and Westminster College of the Arts (Westminster Choir College and the School of Fine and Performing Arts) — provide dynamic undergraduate programs in more than 60 areas and graduate programs in 18 specialties. What you’ll get is an opportunity to excel—to achieve academic excellence and career success.

Westminster Choir College (a part of Westminster College of the Arts, located in Princeton, NJ) merged with Rider in 1992 and is an integral part of the Rider community. It is also the only college of its kind in the world. Westminster’s undergraduate and graduate programs are led by world-class music professionals and will prepare you for music leadership careers as performers, educators, conductors, and choir directors.  The School of Fine and Performing Arts is located on the Lawrenceville campus of Rider University.

In addition to academics, Rider offers hundreds of activities, from intramural sports to Division I NCAA men’s and women’s athletics, from student government to a wide variety of student clubs and organizations, from internships to service learning opportunities – all of which give you opportunities to become involved, enhance your educational experience, and stretch your mind and imagination. Whatever you are interested in pursuing, you can find a way to become engaged at Rider in creative and meaningful ways.
