For the past 12 years Christmount has housed the Autism Society of North Carolina's summer camp program, Mountain Adventure Camp. Upon the closing of Mountain Adventure Camp, Christmount decided to sponsor its own residential camp for individuals on the autism spectrum.  We are proud to announce the creation of Camp Lakey Gap, which will continue to provide similar services for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Camp Lakey Gap strives to nurture individuals on the autism spectrum with an enriching summer camp experience not possible in a traditional camp setting and provide guardians with a time of respite. 

We strive to provide our campers with a recreation experience similar to any other summer camp. The main difference is that our staff structures the activities so that individuals on the autism spectrum will be able to understand what is expected of them. The structure that is in place helps the campers to be more independent while trying the different activities.
