Lets face it, Scout camp is an important part of growing up. The memories of fun and fellowship will stay with a person their whole life. The Great Alaska Council believes that every Scout deserves a week at summer camp, and no Scout will miss camp because of a lack of funds. A campership is financial assistance awarded to a Cub Scout or Boy Scout to allow him to attend a summer camp program, either residential or day camp. The deadline for campership application is May 1.
Camp Carlquist is Cub Scouting turned up a notch. It's the place where Tiger, Cubs and Webelos go wild with sing-alongs, skits, skills and adventures. They join Akeela and add a whole new pack of friends as they earn Arrow Points and Ranks on their way down the Cub Scouting trail.
Along with archery, there is a BB gun range for a young budding marksman. Maybe he's into catching minnows on the dock of Lake Edmonds or taking a canoe or paddle boat out with his friends and leaders. Fun doesn't end there though... running the obstacle course, creating a work of art in the craft area, or just climbing the 30ft interior climbing wall... he can do that too and so can you!
