Maryland Baseball Academy is a full service year-round baseball training facility located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Derek Hacopian opened his indoor training facility in the fall of 1996 following his five year professional baseball career. One of the Academy's primary goals has always been to provide the best in professional hitting, pitching, and catching instruction. We have compiled a year-round staff of some of the finest skill coaches in the area. We offer private, semi-private, small group and team instruction to players of all ages and abilities. The Academy also offers seasonal clinics, summer baseball camps, and Academy teams.

In addition to the Academy's instructional programs, we provide individuals and teams with a facility where they can practice their hitting and pitching skills. The Academy has coin operated batting cages that are open to the public and a training facility that can be rented by teams. We also offer a cost effective hitting membership program that is perfect for individuals who use our batting cages often.

We are the leaders in the Metropolitan area in providing year round professional baseball instruction to students of all ages. Our goal moving forward, will be to continue to offer the best in baseball instruction for players of all levels, while also providing a first class training facility for individuals and teams.

Players will be divided into age appropriate working groups where they will work with one of our MBA staff coaches. Each day will include a hitting talk/pitching talk followed by hitting/pitching fundamental drills. Players will hit everyday off of our Iron Mike arm-throwing pitching machines. Pitchers will throw live bullpens. One of the goals of our camps is to improve hitters and pitchers by educating them on how to practice correctly, which is vital to achieving success. Players will learn correct technique and how to practice smart to improve.
