Description

Delaware Valley Tennis Academy is a year-round program located along the Main Line west of Philadelphia. We are currently working with and have worked with many nationally, sectional and non-ranked juniors. Delaware Valley Tennis Academy has three programs designed for all levels: Super "AT" (Advanced Training) is for Nationally and Sectional ranked players; Advanced Training is for District and Non-Ranked tournament juniors; and Junior Development is for non-tournament players. DVTA believes in strong technical direction accompanied with one-on-one practice, private lessons, match play and conditioning, weight training and tournament travel for students who qualify. Currently we have use of 5 indoor courts, 17 outdoor courts, an outdoor pool and other great facilities. We have had many years of past success and look forward to future years of much accomplishment.

Delaware Valley Tennis Academy was organized and formed as a by-product of the famous Nick Bollettieri Academy in Florida. The original owner was a Director of Tennis for Nick Bollettieri in the late '70s and started DVTA in Wayne, Pennsylvania thereafter. Over the years, DVTA has worked with many nationally and sectional ranked juniors. Two DVTA students, David DiLucia and Michael Lang, were ranked in the top 5 nationally. Many had advanced to respectable Division I and Division III colleges such as: University of Notre Dame, Duke University, University of Georgia, University of North Carolina-Charlotte, University of Richmond, Franklin and Marshall, Penn State University, Haverford College, Kenyon College and Trinity College, to name a few. Some obtained scholarships to Division I schools, and David DiLucia was victorious in his pursuit of the Men's NCAA singles title in 1992 and eventually turned professional after graduating. Michael Lang was ranked #1 in the US while in Boys 14s and 16s. His team at University of Georgia won the NCAA's in 2001. Michael transferred to University of Miami where he played the #1 singles position for 2 years.
