Description

Camp Scully has six core values which guide our daily life: Service, Caring, Understanding, Love, Loyalty and Youthfulness. Campers learn to embody these values throughout the week by earning "letters" awarded daily.

Camp Scully has 22 acres of land on which are 10 children’s cabins, playing fields, hiking trails, beach area, archery field, ropes course and recreation hall. Campers spend their week with 9 other children in their age group and two adult counselors. Cabins are split by gender and are in separate areas of the camp. Children arrive on Sunday afternoon and leave on Friday evening.

All campers share 3 meals a day served family style in our dining hall. An afternoon snack is also provided. To help incorporate our values, campers travel throughout their camp day with their cabin groups.

While Camp Scully serves all children, it has been dedicated to serving children from low-income families since its inception. This commitment includes full or partial scholarships to large numbers of the participants. Without this support many children would not have the opportunity of attending summer camp.

Camp Scully conducts educational and recreational programs for youth, adults, families and community groups in a camp setting on Snyders Lake in North Greenbush, New York. The Camp offers programs of one day to one week from September through May, with unheated overnight accommodations for up to 80 participants in dormitory-style cabins, and three meals daily in a rustic dining hall. There are heated accommodations for 12 people in a separate building with a kitchen and laundry facilities.

The facilities of the Camp are available for rental by organized groups for meetings, retreats, weddings and events on weekends and weekdays. Special resources of Camp Scully include hiking and nature trails; high and low ropes courses; an extensive waterfront for swimming and boating; canoe and kayak fleets; and environments for winter camping and recreation such as ice fishing
