One day clinics for competitive female tennis players 14-17 years old which will focus on advanced stroke production as well as strategic and game development that is used at the college level. The clinic is run by Swarthmore women's head tennis coach Jeremy Loomis. This is a great way to experience a college-like practice. Incorporated in the program is a tour of the athletic facilities, the campus, and an admissions information session.
The Loomis Racquet Academy is a new camp on the beautiful campus of Swarthmore College. Tennis campers will have the opportunity to learn and have fun in a structured yet nurturing environment. The tennis instruction will be grounded in the fundamentals, but with an individualized approach so that each child has an opportunity to be challenged and improve. Morning group lessons and fitness will cover technique and strategy and, in the afternoon, campers will play singles and doubles under the watchful tutelage of the coaches. We have an array of special learning aides for beginners to video analysis for higher level players, and an on-site athletic trainer will help with water breaks and medical needs.
Besides a great tennis experience, we offer each camper a unique opportunity to take an afternoon clinic in table tennis, badminton, or squash, thus the only comprehensive racquet sports camp. With the inclusion of fun evening activities and an awards ceremony on the final day, the Loomis Racquet Academy will be an enriching week for kids of all ages.
