The Bemidji Area Tennis Association (BATA) was created in the spring of 2003.  A small group of local tennis enthusiasts organized with a mission  “To promote and develop the growth of tennis in the Bemidji area.” 



Became a tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organization as recognized by the US Internal Revenue Service and the Minnesota Department of Revenue in 2004.Maintains a database with over 200 local tennis players.

Host of four tennis tournaments in Bemidji: the BATA Spring Doubles Tournament, the Paul Bunyan Open, the Pro AM and the 3.5 & Below Fall Classic.Provides USPTA certified teaching professionals.
