Scatico provides a supportive, family-like environment, where every individual counts. Our intimate size (260 campers) and strong leadership help in creating a welcoming and accepting atmosphere. Campers and staff will know everyone's name; and everyone will know theirs!High camper and staff return rates give the clearest indication. At Scatico, the return rates of campers and staff have consistently run over 90% and 75% respectively. A stable community such as ours can focus on welcoming new Scatico families.

Scatico is a brother-sister camp. Brother-sister camps have separate facilities. Advantages of having separate facilities for boys and girls include creating an atmosphere that is not pressured socially and ensuring that every camper receives equal time in all activity areas.Scatico has the best of both worlds: the boys' camp and the girls' camp are about a half-mile apart on a single property. This distinguishing feature eliminates the need to use public roads and transportation whenever there are coed or full-camp events.Counselor staff primarily come from the United States. About 25% are international. Most campers come from the New York City metropolitan area. About 20% of our campers travel to Scatico from throughout the United States and from overseas: Venezuela, Tokyo, London.
