DescriptionGirl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts serves more than 45,000 girls ages 5-17 and 17,000 adult volunteers in 178 communities across Eastern Massachusetts with the mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. The Girl Scouts provide girls with the opportunity to DISCOVER their world, CONNECT with and build an understanding for others and TAKE ACTION to make the world a better place. Girls are guided by committed and caring adults who make learning fun. Girl Scouting helps each girl achieve her personal leadership pathway to the future. Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts’ membership has grown from 18 members in Savannah, Ga., to 3.7 million members throughout the United States, including U.S. territories, and in more than 90 countries through USA Girl Scouts Overseas. GSUSA is the world's premiere organization dedicated solely to girls. Our council is a non-profit chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), the largest leadership development organization for girls in the world. The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts joins the world in expressing our deepest condolences to the more than nine million Haitian residents, the millions of Haitians living around the globe and everyone affected by this heart-wrenching tragedy. This is a tragedy which takes its toll on all of humanity. Details
