We are very excited about the 2010 program and all of the many possibilities for the campers who attend one, two or more weeks during this summer season. While it is early December as we write this and there are many a cold day ahead before summer is here, quite truly, summer is just around the corner. As we meet and talk with prospective staff and discuss the 2010 camp season, we can feel the excitement grow.
Our curriculum “Welcomed to the Table” focuses on one of the faith practices that we are all called to live everyday. We live in a very diverse world today, one where we are continually challenged to extend welcome and hospitality to one another - including those that we don’t know and those that may come from different cultures and backgrounds. During each week, campers will explore what it means to be welcoming, hospitable and embracing while also experiencing self acceptance. God called Abraham and Sarah to move from the familiar and travel to a new and unfamiliar land, God is calling us to reach past the familiar and discover the new things that we’re being invited to do. As we look at hospitality, we seek to build bridges between us and remove the barriers that separate us, embracing each other as a member of God’s family. We invite your prayers for all of those that will take part in this journey.
