Palomar Christian Conference Center has been serving Southern California for over 50 years. and we can accommodate up to 320 people. Palomar Christian Conference Center is located on 320 acres, 32 miles NE of Escondido CA, adjacent to the Palomar Mountain State Park.The camp was started in 1922 by the First Baptist Church of San Diego and incorporated into a non-denominational, non-profit Christian Conference Center in 1951. Since the very beginning, the desire of those involved with the camp has been to use the natural beauty of the mountains, the solitude of the trees, the peaceful streams and the clear mountain air, to draw men and women, boys and girls to new understanding of who God is."Oikos" is the ancient Greek word meaning "extended household," and it refers to the people you interact with on a regular basis - family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, classmates (inmates?) - anyone who is in your personal sphere of influence, your relational world.  The average person has between 8 to 15 people in their oikos.  Spiritually, the oikos is the focus of a person's relationships.  Jesus uses the word "oikos" specifically in the context of the people that Christ followers are meant to love. 



At FBCSD, we believe your Oikos is the 8 to 15 people that God has purposefully and providentially placed in your life.  These are the people who know you best, the people you influence by what you do everyday, your sphere of influence.  They are not there by accident, but are there for you to demonstrate and announce the love of God by loving them in practical ways, and be ready with a reason for the hope you have in Jesus Christ.As a church, we want to add value to our community and to those people around us.  It is not a religion we practice, instead, we participate in a movement of love demonstrated to us by Jesus Christ, and we follow his command to make disciples the way he did.
