Play is the work of childhood—the chief vehicle for the development of imagination, intelligence, language, social skills, and perceptual-motor abilities in young children.  Therefore, the Tarrytown Nursery School grounds its curriculum in a "Learning Through Play" philosophy.   



The focus of the program is the individual growth of each child through exploration, experimentation, and first-hand experience. Classes are available for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, as well as a Mommy/Daddy & Me class for children 18-24 months with a caregiver.

Come join the fun at Tarrytown Nursery School this summer during our annual summer camp!  Open to children ages 3-5, our camp runs from 9:30am – 12:30pm Monday – Thursday.  Your children will enjoy making crafts, free play, bubble time, sprinkler play and so much more.  Each week has a different theme, so there’s always something new to do.  Some themes have included: Father’s Day, The Pond, Beach, Wind, Summer, Sports, Gardens.  Campers must register for a minimum of two weeks (weeks do not need to be consecutive).  You may download a registration form or contact us at 631-8227 for additional information.
