DescriptionCamp Loyaltown is a private, nonprofit, summer residential, respite camp which cares for children as young as 4 years old through adults in their 80's who have developmental and other disabilities. Camper's functional levels range from mildly developmentally disabled through severely disabled. Many of the individuals who we serve have no other handicapping conditions while others have one or a number of the following additional disabilities: Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism, Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Speech Impairment, Orthopedic Involvement, Emotional Sensitivity, Hyperactivity and other mental or physical impairments. Our philosophy is to provide our campers with a fun, safe, and stimulating vacation, which is why we offer a 1:2 to 1:3 staff camper ratio. The camp is located in the Catskill Mountains of New York. We offer traditional camp programs - swimming, boating, A&C, ceramics, woodworking, fabric arts, dance, music drama, athletics, recreation, nature and cooking. The mission of AHRC is to teach, support and advocate for children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to make life choices, exercise independence and develop responsibility. AHRC Nassau encourages all individuals to fulfill their dreams and become productive members of the community. This is accomplished by providing an array of individual and family supports. Details
