Thank you for your interest in Charlotte Preparatory School. Since 1971, we’ve been preparing children for greater things in life in our Montessori Early School and our traditional Kindergarten through Eighth Grade programs.



We know that many factors weigh in on your decision to find a school that best fits your family’s needs. At Charlotte Prep, we provide a nurturing environment that focuses on each child as an individual while prizing the spirit of the school as a whole. Our theme for the school year is I am Charlotte Prep. Through this theme, we celebrate that everyone at the school is living our mission and celebrating our accomplishments.

Our mission is simple: we develop our children as learners and leaders by focusing on individuals. Our goal is to prepare each child for the next phase of his or her educational experience, both in and out of the classroom. Our teachers challenge each child to learn new skills – verbal and reading, math, science, foreign language, leadership, art, drama and computer technology.



The out-of-classroom skills include developing social skills through playground experiences, participation in sports and educational trips like our 11-year old exchange program with a private school in Mexico. In our Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade program, the focus in on preparing each child for high school, while allowing them to be kids a little longer.

Our teachers and staff are highly trained in various undergraduate, graduate and PhD disciplines. We provide for continual training through local and national workshops, and we encourage our teachers to try new and different methods to enhance our curriculum. We also employ independent organizations such as Independent School Management to help us monitor our performance.



As a parent, you expect much from us and we, in turn, expect much from you. Charlotte Prep parents are highly involved in making our school the creative, exciting place that it is. They volunteer in our classrooms, serve on our Parent Association and participate in our Dads Club and Heritage Groups. It is your interest in your child’s education that will determine your child’s interest in education.
