Description

Christian Leadership Alliance (CLA) is an association that serves more than 9,000 members working in more than 4,500 organizations worldwide. The former Christian Management Association and the former Christian Stewardship Association joined together in April 2008 to create Christian Leadership Alliance—the nation's leading resource for enhancing the organizational effectiveness of churches and para-church ministries.

CLA seeks to build the body of Christ by building people—enhancing the effectiveness of Christian organizations and large churches. We recognize that organizational effectiveness begins with individuals, and that the role of the leader as a faithful steward belongs to all who are called to serve through governance, leadership, management or resource development.

In our information saturated age, multitudes of leadership books and management seminars exist. Sorting through this deluge of data is the job of CLA. For executives of organizations and churches, CLA is the one place to go to learn what to know. We provide resources and experiences relevant to your Christian context and organizational priorities. With this help, CLA members can focus more of their attention on their mission, impacting the world for Jesus Christ.

There are many incredible CLA member benefits. One of those is access to a new initiative, The Engstrom Institute, which has been launched by CLA and other key partners Azusa Pacific University, Evangelical Christian Credit Union, and World Vision to honor the late Dr. Ted Engstrom, renowned Christian leader and advocate of global ministry effectiveness. The Institute's purpose is to assist para-church ministries and larger churches around the world in becoming more effective as organizations. To accomplish this goal, the Institute will collect, categorize, and disseminate top-quality resources to empower its users to improve their governance, leadership, and management.
