DescriptionFor more than 70 years, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Monmouth County in One of the JCC’s most important assets is its Center Play School (CPS), a fully-accredited, year-round program for infants through five year olds. CPS offers a superior early-childhood Jewish-oriented curriculum led by a highly experienced staff of educators. The JCC also offers one of the area’s most exciting full-day summer camp programs for children ages 2-15. The camp program is known for its excellent staff, wide variety of activities and top notch, air-conditioned facility. The camping experience includes swim instruction in three swimming pools, sports activities in two state-of-the art gymnasia, arts and crafts, wall climbing, and many exciting trips. The program is uniquely Jewish in nature; with Israeli “Shlichim” who help guide Oneg Shabbat and instill a love of The JCC was proud to host the 2007 JCC Maccabi ArtsFest, a national teen arts program. 400 talented teens from around the world participated in this 2nd annual week-long teen program in fine & performing arts. The facility features a state of the art fitness center, equipped with the latest cardiovascular and strength training equipment. The JCC is home to two full size gymnasia as well as full size indoor and outdoor pools. The center also houses racquetball courts, large group fitness rooms, an indoor running track, street hockey rink, outdoor basketball courts, and several outdoor sports fields. The JCC offers a wide variety of engaging activities for seniors and active adults; the Lunch Bunch program, where seniors gather daily to share a delicious kosher meal; classes on current events, Yiddish, Bingo, book and film discussions and bus trips. The JCC also runs a Kosher Meals on Wheels program, delivering thousands of meals per year to home-bound senior citizens throughout The JCC of Greater Monmouth County is the proud home of the Herbert and Evelyn Axelrod Performing Arts Center. This exquisite, 525-seat performing arts center opened in the summer of 2005, and is committed to providing top-notch entertainment and cultural activities for people of all ages. The JCC's PAC presents performing arts of all kinds, including community theater, jazz, classical and opera series, as well as rock, pop and klezmer concerts geared toward young adult audiences. The PAC also houses the Gallery on Grant art gallery, offering local artists a chance to display their work; as well as an annual Festival of Books. Details
