Description

Mt. Gilead Camp is a non-denominational overnight Christian girls summer camp for girls ages 6-17 located in the scenic Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. There are 5 weekly sessions to choose from and girls can stay for any number of sessions. While at Mt. Gilead, campers choose three activities in which to participate every day a typical weeks choices include, but are not limited to, the following: Air Riflery, Archery, Bible Exploration, Campcraft, Canoeing, Ceramics, Crafts, Drama, Country style crafts, Hiking, Horsemanship, Music/Songwriting, Nature Trees, Crafting from items found in nature, Outdoor Cooking, Sign Language, Swimming and Riflery.



English style horseback riding is available through our horsemanship program and is taught by our qualified and caring staff. Our programs range from our Regular Horsemanship program where campers ride for 50 minutes each day to our Equestrian Quest I and II where campers will not select any other daily activities but will be doing horse related activities and chores in addition to extended periods of riding.



Mt. Gilead Camp offers specialty week programs which activites can include scaling a rock wall, canoeing and/or kayaking the scenic Delaware River, paintball, canoeing. Our Young Adventurers program is specifically designed for first time campers (girls completing 1st through 4th grade) to help parents and campers alike with the adjustment of being away at camp for the first time.



Campers In Leadership Training (C.I.L.T.) is a two year program for young ladies in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade with emphasis on supervised leadership training and personal spiritual growth. These ladies will be challenged in ways they never dreamed possible and grow in knowledge, skills and confidence throughout the program. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be encouraged to join our staff. This intense program will prepare young women not only to serve at camp, but in their schools, churches, communities and throughout the world.
